Novelis Names Les Parrette General Counsel
ATLANTA, Feb. 18, 2005 – Novelis Inc. (NYSE, TSX: NVL) today announced the appointment of Les J. Parrette, Jr. to the position of General Counsel, effective March 8. He will report to President and CEO Brian W. Sturgell, who, with this appointment, has completed the selection of Novelis' senior leadership team.
“Les brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to Novelis,” Sturgell said. “His international expertise will greatly contribute to our leadership position in the aluminum rolled products marketplace.”
Parrette comes to Novelis from Aquila, Inc. of Kansas City, where he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the energy distributor since 2000. Prior to that, Parrette was a senior partner at the law firm Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin, LLP, overseeing international mergers and acquisitions, privatizations and equity transactions.
