Novelis Provides Bi-Weekly Status Update

(NYSE: NVL) (TSX: NVL) today provided a status update pursuant to the policies of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). The Company reported that there have been no material developments in the matters initially reported in its press release of November 7, 2005, and the recent bi-weekly status update on December 5, 2005.

Separately, Novelis said that it has set June 29, 2006 as the date of its annual shareholders meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Additional details regarding the meeting time and location will be announced at a later date.
