Novelis UK Win At The Awards For Excellence
Novelis UK were unveiled as the winner of the Circular Economy Success category at this year’s Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management, 2015.

The annual Awards for Excellence are renowned for delivering true value and recognition to leaders of the innovation in the sector. The Circular Economy Success category – sponsored by the Textiles Recycling Association – was targeted at businesses, local authorities and organisations that show how they have provided for success within the circular economy process in the waste management and recycling sector.

Novelis were chosen as the winner for their ‘promotion of recycling aluminium’ and were praised for being a ‘true closed loop pioneer in the UK’. The entry focused on how Novelis are building a new circular economic model for the aluminium market, re-engineering not only the supply chain, but also how capital is invested and how new products are designed.

Andy Doran, Novelis Europe Senior Manager, Recycling & Sustainability Development said: ‘Novelis is assuming a new role necessary to the circular economy, enabling us to loop the same infinite material back into the marketplace for use, again and again and again. Back in 2011 we set some ambitious sustainability targets and we have made strong progress towards achieving those targets. The centrepiece of our sustainability strategy is our target to reach 80% recycled content in all our products’.

‘It’s a great honour to be recognised by the judges for the ground breaking work we are doing not only in the UK but across the globe.’
