CLEVELAND, May 23, 2008 – Novelis Corporation announced today a price increase of two cents per pound on all 1000-, 3000-, 5000- and 6000-series aluminum alloy products, including high magnesium alloys, due to the continued escalation of transportation and energy related costs.  This increase will apply to all products for the distribution, OEM, building and light gauge markets of Novelis in North America.

This increase will be effective with all new orders booked on or after June 1, 2008, and apply to all orders scheduled for shipment on or after July 1, 2008.  Any business under contract with fixed pricing will be exempt from these increases.
