Novelis Provides Bi-Weekly Status Update

ATLANTA, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Novelis Inc. (NYSE: NVL) (TSX: NVL) today provided a status update pursuant to the policies of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). The Company announced that it has successfully obtained the consent from its lenders to extend the filing and reporting deadlines under the Novelis Credit Agreement for the third quarter 2005, the full year 2005, and the first quarter 2006 financial results. The Company reported that, aside from the lenders' consent to extension of filing and reporting deadlines, there have been no other material developments since its January 31, 2006, status update on the matters initially reported in its press release of November 7, 2005.
